Manchester City Council outlines plans for new residential scheme
Manchester City Council has outlined plans to build up to 75 homes as part of a project set to feature on Channel 4.Earmarked for a vacant site in Newton Heath, consultation with residents and businesses for the project has begun.The homes would be designed to harness the latest environmental technologies to improve efficiency and cut bills, using modular construction to speed up the process.The scheme will feature in a TV series presented by George Clarke to celebrate 100 years of council housing. The presenter attended the first consultation event.The masterplan has been designed by Manchester-based Six Two Architects, with the first homes set to be available for occupation in March 2020.
