Manufacturer plans to forge ahead with new developmentSheffield Forgemasters, a former Yorkshire Business Masters winner, has lodged plans to develop a new building for its new forge press.The manufacturer which was taken over by the Ministry of Defence last year has submitted a full planning application to Sheffield City Council for a 144,000 sq ft building on the site of its existing fore building.According to plans the new development will also include office space and a water pumping station, and subject to approval is expected to be completed and operational by 2025.The development is described as the “first stage in a significant investment for Sheffield Forgemasters”, which will secure the future of the historic company and mean it stays at the forefront of the sector.
