Market Leads & Opportunities
Market Hall conversion starts
The conversion of the Market Hall building on the riverside in Haverfordwest has begun. The building will be home to a new county library and gallery as well as providing tourism information, a Life Hub zone – with access to financial and health information, a coffee shop and a children’s library. It is hoped that the project act as a catalyst for the regeneration of Haverfordwest by drawing visitors to the exhibitions held at the site.Contractor WB Griffiths and Son has started enabling work on site, and the new facility is set to open in the spring of 2018. Funding for the development has included £285,000 from the Welsh Government to develop the new county library, and £90,000 towards the gallery fit-out from the Wolfson Foundation – a charity supporting science, medicine, the arts and education.
