The Skills Strategy also seeks to ensure the content of education and training programmes reflects the needs of local employers.This Call is seeking applications which help deliver the Skills Strategy aim of promoting the development of a highly skilled workforce and improving the connections between education and employment.Activities may include, but not limited to:Enhancing access to lifelong learning, upgrading the skills and competences of the workforce and increasing the labour market relevance of education and training systems, including improving the quality of vocational education and training, and the establishment and development of work-based learning and apprenticeship schemes such as dual learning systems.Developing better links between businesses and training provision to support economic recovery and to enable businesses to access government support and relevant incentives.Focussed activities and innovative approaches to promote interaction between business and Higher Education and Further Education providers to meet local business needs, particularly supporting the introduction of new technical qualifications routes (Level 3+).Developing better links between business and schools, Further and Higher Education providers and other education partners to equip students with the skills to start and grow a business, linking to existing provision in the local area.For more information, download the Call Specification on the website above.5.
