Martin Walsh Architectural secures £2.5m contract
Dewsbury-based Martin Walsh Architectural has won a £2.5m contract to design a new manufacturing facility for a window blind manufacturer.Louvolite, a manufacturer and distributor of window blind fabrics and systems, is set to move into a warehouse and two-storey building at Ashton Road in Hyde, Greater Manchester.Located at the company’s existing premises, the new development includes offices, a warehouse, production facility and a state-of-the-art training and showroom.The building will be constructed by Huddersfield-based Radcliffe Construction and Leeds-based Melia Smith and Jones will act as civil and structural engineers.The site is due to be completed in December 2017, two years after planning permission was initially granted. The new building has been developed to emulate the mill window openings that had been on the site since 1920 before being demolished in 2011.
