Mayfair Group outlines plans for 500 new sustainable homes
Northern Ireland-based property developer Mayfair Group has announced plans to develop 500 sustainable homes across the UK and Ireland over the next five years. The homes are being delivered under the Mayfair Zero brand and will involve a private investment of more than £100m. The announcement comes as COP26 continues in Glasgow, having brought together leaders from across the world to accelerate action on climate change. The Mayfair Zero developments will be equipped with integrated solar panels, solar battery storage systems and electric vehicle charge points, as well as smart grid technology. This will allow solar energy to be produced during the day to power homes and cars, and any energy not being used will be stored. The stored energy can then be used when needed in the evening. Combined, these features work together to provide a Grade A energy rating.Mayfair Zero homes are designed in conjunction with Mayfair Group company Encom Energy, a provider of sustainable futures technologies for homes and businesses across Ireland, the UK and Europe.
