McLaren wins £38m Brighton College contract
McLaren Construction has secured a £38m contract to design and construct the new sports and science facility for Brighton College.Designed by Dutch architect OMA, the project will involve the demolition of existing buildings within the site boundary and the construction of a new sports and science building over four floors. The new building will include a swimming pool in the basement along with underground parking for the college fleet of minibuses.The ground floor has a cafe, sports viewing area, gymnasium and sports hall as well as an indoor sprint running track. Upper floors will hold laboratories for all core sciences, such as Chemistry, Physics and Biology, and the rooftop amenity space will feature a running track.This is McLaren’s third major project with Brighton College in the last five years.Construction will start in July this year and will be completed by end of 2019.
