Mixed-use development planned for Sheffield site
A new eight-storey mixed use building featuring apartments and commercial units could be developed on a site in Sheffield if newly submitted plans get the go-ahead.George Marshall (Power Tools) Ltd, supported by DPP Planning and Self Architects, has submitted an application to Sheffield City Council for the redevelopment of its site on Johnson Street.Planning permission is sought for the demolition of the existing buildings and construction of an eight-storey, mixed-use development.The new building would comprise two commercial units on the ground floor, suitable for a range of uses, with 61 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments on the upper levels.The Kelham Island Conservation Area is located adjacent to the west corner of the site and includes the nearby grade II-listed Aizlewood’s Mill and The New Testament Church of God buildings.
