Mixed-use Digbeth scheme tipped for approval
Plans for 456 rented homes at the S&K Buildings in Digbeth have been recommended for approval by Birmingham City Council.The mixed-use Digbeth schemeset to be delivered by Taylor Grange will see the S&K Buildings transformed into a BTR scheme of 479 apartments, with commercial units, amenities, public terraces and a riverside walkway.The S&K Building will be refurbished with a two storey extension added, while six blocks of 6-7 and 8-10 storeys will be built.The scheme will offer will offer one to three bedroom apartments and duplexes, restaurant/bar, gym and private amenity spaces.Approval for the scheme has been recommended subject to a Section 106 agreement to provide 48 affordable apartments.The plans will be heard on December 9.
