Mixed-use scheme moves closer to fruition
Proposals to create a mixed-use scheme at Longridge near Preston have moved closer to fruition with the award of further planning consents.HOW Planning originally secured outline permission for up to 220 homes, a number of apartments with care access, and an area of commercial office space at the site on Whittingham Road.It has now obtained detailed planning approval, on behalf of Prospect GB, for the first phase of residential development comprising 113 homes.In addition, it has secured planning permission for an 18,718 sq ft Aldi food store to replace the permitted commercial element of the original wider outline scheme.The proposed new Aldi represent a multimillion-pound investment that would create up to 50 jobs.
