The Swedish modular housing company BoKlok UK Ltd, which is jointly owned by the two companies Skanska and IKEA, is set to deliver 200 sustainable modular homes to South Bristol in Somerset. If planning approval is given by the Bristol City Council the construction of the homes, which will be a speedy affair given the nature of modular building, will commence in the autumn of 2020, with 140 of the homes being reserved for the housing market while the remaining 60 will be reserved for social rent and shared ownership. The Bristol Housing Festival’s Project Director, Jez Sweetland concluded: “The festival is all about re-imagining new and better ways to live in our cities. BoKlok provide creative solutions with a fantastic track record of creating great homes and strong communities, we are really thrilled to be working with them.”If you would like to read more articles like this then please click here.
