More than 40 homes set for council backing

A revised application for the construction of more than 40 homes in Shropshire is set to be backed by the council.Gleeson Homes is seeking the go-ahead from Shropshire Council to build 43 properties in the settlement of Prees Heath at the junction of the A41and A49.This is a revised application following a recent refusal in November 2020 for a residential scheme of 48 dwellings.Current proposals include the development of two, three and four-bedroom homes, comprising 24 for the open market and 19 for affordable housing.The project will include the provision of a new vehicular and pedestrian access which will serve the proposed residential development and an existing adjoining restaurant and convenience store.The proposed layout also includes a reconfiguration and extension of the existing car park serving the restaurant to provide 36 parking spaces and a designated service yard.
