Morgan Sindall chalks up £64m Ayrshire school campuses
Morgan Sindall will to deliver two major early years and primary school campuses at Prestwick and Maybole in western ScotlandAppointed via hub South West for South Ayrshire Council it will build both the Prestwick Educational Campus and Maybole Community Campus.Morgan Sindall will now work with architect BDP and the council to draw up final designs for the projects.Work on the Prestwick campus should start in the summer of 2020 with completion by the end of 2022.The campus to be built on the site of the existing Glenburn Primary School and will have capacity for up to 823 children.Work on the Maybole Community Campus should also get underway next summer with completion slated for spring 2023.This new campus with capacity for 1,370 children will be built on the site of the existing Carrick Academy.As well as a new secondary school, the campus serving Maybole and Carrick will bring together Cairn and Gardenrose primary schools and their Early Years Centres and there will be a new St Cuthbert’s Primary.The Maybole campus will also feature a swimming pool which will be accessible to the public.
