Morgan Sindall wins £40m Birmingham laboratory
Morgan Sindall starts work this month on the construction of a new collaborative teaching laboratory (CTL) for the University of Birmingham at its main Edgbaston campus.The £40m building will house the teaching of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) subjects.The two-storey 72,120 sq ft building, which received planning consent in September, has been designed by architect Sheppard Robson. The front of the building is characterised by large angled brise-soleil made from gold anodised aluminium, projecting over the main entrance.The building is expected to be finished in 2019.
