Muller homes scheme signed off
Outline planning permission has been granted for plans by property company Muller to build a canalside development on a former mill site in Burnley. Muller Property Group’s proposal is to build up to 73 homes on 6.5-acres of land at Barden Lane.Homes will predominantly be three-bedrooms and include a mix of semi detached, terraced groups and a small number of detached houses. The brownfield site, which sits on the Leeds Liverpool Canal and close to Reedley Marina, was once Lodge Mill but the operation was demolished in 2015. The application for the site includes the creation of a green corridor along the canal with a number of properties fronting directly onto the water. It is also subject to the applicant entering into a section 106 agreement. This relates to open space improvement, affordable housing, off-site woodland mitigation, off-site woodland management and enhancement, provision of new pedestrian link and improvements to public bridleway.
