Multimillion-pound boost for Newcastle housing
Almost £12m has been awarded to Newcastle City Council which will be used to build up to 450 houses.The £11.8m windfall secured from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) is the largest in the North EastSecuring the cash injection will allow the authority to bring forward a range of housing options as part of its ambitious affordable housing programme.The funding boost will build on an existing £9m partnership Newcastle City Council already has with the HCA to build 300 affordable homes.
