Multimillion-pound regeneration boost for Tudor Street

Cardiff’s Tudor Street is set to benefit from a regeneration programme designed to create a vibrant shopping area for the community and visitors to the Riverside area.Phase one of the development, which starts on site next month, will involve £1m being invested in commercial premises which have signed up to take part in the Tudor Street building improvement scheme.Further funding of approximately £3m has been earmarked for work in early 2021 which will enable a large transformation of the whole street environment.Funding for the £1m scheme has been secured by the council from a regional project part-funded by Welsh Government, through its Transforming Towns programme.The council is also to match-fund about £1.6m from Welsh Government for the £3m, 2021 improvements, which were secured via the Transforming Towns Funding for Green Infrastructure and Regeneration.
