New multi-million pound rugby club approved for Bristol
Hartcliffe is to get a new multi-million-pound rugby club in a move that paves the way for a controversial new housing estate.The community in south Bristol, which has some of the most deprived households in the city, is benefiting from the clearance of a nearby park that has been earmarked for development.St Bernadette’s Boys Rugby Football Club has to move from its home in Hengrove Park so that the council can build around 1,450 homes there if it gets planning permission.The club, which has 900 members, will be moving into brand new clubrooms to be built less than two miles away on the site of the former Whitehouse Primary School on Fulford Road.
