New plans for 200-apartment scheme

New plans have been lodged for almost 200 apartments as part of the latest element of the Hungate development in York.Lichfields, on behalf of Hungate (York) Regeneration, has submitted an application to City of York Council for Block D of the development.Planning permission is sought for construction of a part six, part seven storey building comprising 196 residential apartments. The development would include 99 one-bed, 90 two-bed and seven three bed units. All the apartments would have access to balconies or ground floor terraces.The development would also include a landscaped courtyard and green roof.A total of 204 cycle parking spaces would be provided. Car parking would be provided through existing facilities on the wider Hungate site, including basement beneath Blocks A, B and C, and the multi storey car park under construction as part of Block F.Hybrid planning permission was granted in April 2017 covering the outline parameters for Blocks G and H, alongside detailed proposals for the development of Blocks D and F.The new application includes a number of changes from the original plans, including an increase in the number of apartments, removal of the basement car park, and an adjustment to the housing mix.Block F is currently under construction and is expected to be complete in by summer 2019. The construction of Block G is set to start on site in the first half of 2019.
