New station plans on track for approval

Formal plans for a new railway station to be opened in south Birmingham have been recommended for approval.Transport for West Midlands is seeking the go-ahead from the city council for Moseley Station.The two-platform station would be located on the Camp Hill line and also include two raised walkways, a large forecourt, covered cycle storage and three parking spaces.The scheme forms part of a wider project which focuses on the delivery of three separate stations at Moseley, Kings Heath and Hazelwel.They are historical sites of stations which were closed during the 1940s.Birmingham City Council’s planning committee is set to make a final decision at a virtual meeting on Thursday 24 September.The station would be located on land north of St Mary’s Row and south of Woodbridge Road if Birmingham City Council gives the scheme the go-ahead.
