New terrace area proposed for The Earl Grey pub in Leek
An award winning pub has submitted a planning application for a new roof-top terrace area.Management at The Earl Grey pub in Ashbourne Road in Leek has applied to Staffordshire Moorlands District Council for a ‘construction of roof terrace above single storey toilet block’.The proposed plans, if passed by the authority’s planning department, will provide extra seating at the pub which was recently announced as the CAMRA’S Staffordshire Moorlands Pub of The Year.Mr Ankers also stated that, for the application, the design of the proposed roof-top terrace has been “carefully considered to be sympathetic to the historic and architectural asset of the existing building; and proposes to make no changes to the historic element of the property.The Earl Grey pub has been run by friends Mark Sidebotham and Rob Bailey since last Summer.
