A post office could also be turned into a holiday homeEvery week dozens of planning applications are submitted to Cornwall Council, from conversions and demolitions to new businesses and housing.Most of them are small and about things like new dormer windows or trees that need felling.But large-scale housing schemes and infrastructure projects also follow the same route.Below are 12 planning applications submitted to the local authority in the past week which you know you might need to know about.All of these applications are awaiting a decision.This is a pre-planning application for a residential development of approximately 52 homes. It would be located at the Murdoch and Trevithick Centre, within ten minutes’ walk of Redruth town centre.The site is currently empty, following the demolition of the centre.The plans were submitted by Stride Treglown Ltd on behalf of Cornwall Council.The local authority is hoping to build 52 affordable homes, either rented shared-ownership, including flats and two-bed, three-bed, four-bed and five-bed houses.The estate would be built around a central green space.There will also be cycle links to the rest of the town.Cornwall Council’s determination deadline is Wednesday, June 12.Facilities for pigletsThis is a planning application for the extension to a building to provide improved facilities for the weaning of piglets.This is for Whitecross Farm, near Newquay.The planning application was submitted by Peter Scott Architecture Limited on behalf of Michael Brown.The determination deadline for application PA19/03471 is Monday, June 24.
