New Wellington Place buildings approved

Two new office buildings at the Wellington Place development in Leeds have been given the go-ahead.Leeds City Council granted consent for buildings 11 and 12 at Wellington Place at a meeting of its City Plans Panel yesterday (20 February 2020).The latest development is set to comprise a total of 240,000 sq ft, with office space of the upper floors, flexible commercial space on the ground floors and a gym at basement level.The scheme will include a metallic bronze façade, a feature link bridge and a living green wall, as well as bike maintenance stations and changing facilities with showers and lockers.Developer and asset manager MEPC has begun enabling works to bring forward the scheme. The new buildings are expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2022.Wellington Place is being developed by MEPC and is funded through a joint venture between Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) and Hermes Real Estate.
