Newcastle housing development set to move forward
Plans for 99 new homes in Newcastle look set to move forward after being recommended for approval. The application by Gentoo Homes plans to create the homes on the site of the former Chapel Park Middle School which closed in 2005.The proposed properties will comprise a mix or two, three, four and five bedroom homes that are mostly two storeys, but with four bungalows included. There will be a mix of detached and semi-detached homes, the majority of which will be market housing, but 16 units are identified as being affordable units.A document prepared by planners noted that the application “has made commitments to sustainable development and reduced targets for emissions from the dwellings.”The plans will be presented to Newcastle City Council planning committee on Friday 12 November with the recommendation for approval subject to conditions.
