Newcastle pub redevelopment enters second stage
A multimillion-pound project to transform a Newcastle pub into a hotel, bar and restaurant has progressed to the second stage of development.Leisure operator Malhotra Group has completed the first stage of its £6.2m overhaul of Three Mile Inn in Gosforth with the creation of a three-storey extension.The site – which will be known as Three Mile – will incorporate the Great North Hotel, with the new extension housing 64 en-suite bedrooms.The hotel will also offer facilities as a venue for weddings and conferences, with work set to begin on the creation of function rooms and a private dining area, along with a lounge, café and bar.Three Mile will also feature a new Pizza Dough Co. “family-friendly” pizza restaurant, replacing the Scalini’s which was previously operated at the site.An estimated 75 jobs will be created when work is complete.
