Newport leisure centre and college campus plans to move forward
Proposals for new leisure facilities and a further education campus in the heart of Newport city centre could be set to take a step forward.A brownfield site next to the river has been earmarked for a leisure and well-being centre, while Coleg Gwent could gain a city centre campus.Newport City Council’s cabinet will consider recommending the building of the centre and disposing of the Newport Centre site at a meeting later today (22 February 2021).It follows a public consultation which had more than 1,000 responses.
