NI Party Leaders Hold Meeting Over Magee Medical School
Northern Ireland’s party leaders met to discuss the future of plans for a medical school at Ulster University’s Magee campus today, 27 June. The leaders agreed on the need for the medical school at Magee and for progress to be made quickly, while it was also acknowledged the decision on the school does not necessarily need ministerial approval. They are also set to commit additional resources to finalise the business case for the medical school ahead of the deadline in September, and look to use the funding from the Inclusive Future Fund secured for the north west to finance the medical school. An agreement was also reached to meet again in order to take the project forward.
