Northants student plans voted through
Accommodation for more than 350 students is set to be constructed in Northampton after the plans were approved for a second time. The Bective Works scheme in Bective Road was voted through by the borough council during a remote meeting on Tuesday 24 November having previously been given the green light in May.A total of 347 rooms are poised to be created with bed spaces for 356 students.U3 Developments is behind the plans for the site which includes the grade II-listed Abraham lee boot and shoe factory which dates from 1902.The application was brought back to Northampton Borough Council’s planning committee as changes are required to the previously approved obligations, “this being that a contribution towards traffic regulation orders and a requirement for a clause to be included in the student’s tenants agreements prohibiting car use are to be omitted, and a contribution towards sustainable transport is to be added”.
