Nottinghamshire land earmarked for more than 1,200 homes
Agricultural land in Nottinghamshire has been earmarked for a mixed-use scheme proposing the construction of more than 1,200 homes.Barton Willmore LLP, on behalf of Howard (Retford) Ltd has requested a screening opinion from Bassetlaw District Council to redevelop approximately 263 acres of land at Ollerton Road, Retford.The site comprises eight agricultural fields and a field parcel utilised by Retford Golf Club as a driving range.The applicant is proposing to submit an outline planning application for the development of approximately 1,250 homes.A new local centre, indoor and outdoor sports pitches, a school and community hub are also proposed.The residential element of the scheme would be distributed across the site. The western part of the land would remain undeveloped to accommodate a new country park and woodland area for future residents.
