Nuneaton transformation plans to be showcased at MIPIM
Multimillion-pound plans to transform the centre of Nuneaton are set to be showcased to potential investors at global property festival MIPIM next month (March 2019).Warwickshire County Council and Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council are behind the scheme to create a new gateway to the town.An early vision for the Transforming Nuneaton project was first tabled at MIPIM three years ago.The local authorities are now working with a group of regeneration experts and property investments to assess the potential for the scheme.Peter Butlin, Warwickshire’s deputy leader and portfolio holder for finance and property, will lead the county’s delegation to MIPIM.Transforming Nuneaton has recived £7.5m from the Local Growth Fund via the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership (CWLEP).The package will focus on the development of Vicarage Street and the area around the railway station. Plans also involve using public space in the town centre and investment in road, rail and transport infrastructure.
