Olympic Legacy Park projects to provide £60m boost

A series of developments at the Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park are set to provide a £60m boost to the Attercliffe area of the city.Projects at the park will include the redevelopment and expansion of the Banners building, now home to law firm Wosskow Brown, on Attercliffe Road.A major mixed-use development is proposed for the nearby Adelphi square site, comprising bars, restaurants, shops, housing, a themed meeting venue, workspace and a branded hotel.The English Institute of Sport Sheffield will create a 100-bedroom hotel centred on the needs of athletes and para-athletes and support staff who use the facilities at Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park, helping to attract more Olympic and Paralympic squads to the city.Work will also start in December of an improved Community Stadium, currently used by Sheffield Eagles Rugby League Club and Sheffield United Women Football Club.A number of buildings have been developed at the Olympic Legacy Park in the last few years, including the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre, National Centre of Excellence for Food Engineering, Oasis Academy School and University Technical College, joining established facilities such as the English Institute of Sport Sheffield, iceSheffield and FlyDSA Arena.High profile briefings are underway for the establishment of The Centre for Child Health Technology which will co-locate at the park.Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park is being developed by Legacy Park Ltd, a partnership between Sheffield City Council, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, Sheffield Hallam University, Sheffield City Trust, South Yorkshire & Bassetlaw Integrated Care System and Yorkshire & Humber Academic Health Science Network.
