Optivo confirms deal to deliver 67 new homes in Purley
Housing provider Optivo will be delivering 67 affordable homes to Purley after agreeing a deal to purchase land at 11-21 Banstead Road.Croydon Council granted planning permission for the £24m development in October last year.The two apartment blocks will feature a mixture of one-, two-, and three-bedroom modern homes, including some that are wheelchair accessibleThe development is being built next to the site where Optivo is currently delivering 106 homes as part of phase one of the Mosaic Place regeneration project.Mosaic Place will see the redevelopment of two separate sites in Purley, providing a 3,452 sq. m. community and worship centre, retail space, and 220 new homes.‘Proven track record’Ian Hagger, director of Land and New Business at Optivo, said: “We understand the difference safe, secure and affordable homes can make to people’s lives.“We’ve a proven track record of building high-quality homes in the borough and are pleased to be extending our presence within the Purley area.“We develop places with people, not profit, in mind and pride ourselves on creating thriving communities.“We look forward to helping more families in housing need.”The development will include communal gardens for residents and play spaces for children.It will feature 128 cycle parking spaces for residents, with two cycle stores on the ground floor of both blocks.The development will see the demolition of three pairs of semi-detached houses to make way for the new homes.Work is due to start this summer, with completion expected at the end of 2024.Optivo is one of the UK’s largest housing associations with 45,000 homes in London, the south-east of England, and the Midlands.
