Oxon plot earmarked for office building acquired
A consortium of aerospace, defence and facilities management specialists have struck a deal to acquire key development plots in Oxfordshire, paving the way for the construction of a new office building.AirTanker Services, which consists of Babcock, Cobham, Airbus Group, Rolls-Royce and Thales, has purchased land at Ventura Park in Carterton.The consortium has secured planning permission from West Oxfordshire District Council to transform the plots into a new 20,000 sq ft office building. The property will be used to consolidate existing offices and accommodate future growth as the company delivers aircraft, infrastructure, service, training and expertise in support of Voyager, the RAF’s new generation multi-role tanker transport aircraft (MRTT), the UK Armed Forces and their global partners.Developer Robert Hitchins will begin construction of the new office imminently, with a scheduled completion date of spring 2018.The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
