WELLBEING FUND

Aims/priorities: In January 2017, the awarding authority embarked on an ambitious programme of clinical service transformation to improve the mental health outcomes for people receiving their services and to support the wider mental wellbeing of Manchester citizens. Part of this vision for Manchester services involves building community support to promote mental wellbeing (feeling good and functioning well) and support people living with mental health conditions in the community. A budget of £1.5m has been allocated for the three-year Manchester Wellbeing Fund, for community groups and GMMH service users who have great ideas about how to support their communities.

COVID-19 HOMELESS SUPPORT FUND

The awarding authority is making funds available through the Homeless Support Fund to support charities caring for the homeless during the coronavirus/COVID-19 outbreak and ensure help gets to those who need it most. The funding is for homeless people who are particularly vulnerable to COVID-19 because they are more likely to have underlying health conditions and are less able to access basic sanitation. For those who are sleeping rough or are in a crowded night shelter, it is impossible to self-isolate and maintain social distance.
