Partnership lodges plans for hundreds of homes
A partnership has lodged plans to build hundreds of homes in Leicestershire as part of a development which aims to provide “sustainable and positive growth” for the area.William Davis Homes in partnership with Chapman Estates (Leicester) Ltd has submitted outline plans to Charnwood Borough Council to develop land at Gynsill Lane and Anstey Lane, Glenfield.The site extends to approximately 50.4 acres and comprises four parcels of arable land to the south of the A46 and to the north of Leicester.Lined up for Chapman Meadows is the construction of 375 homes, as well as public open space, including the potential for a community garden and children’s play area.The site forms part of a wider strategic development proposition being considered through emerging local plans, including plans in Blaby District and Leicester City. The wider proposition would accommodate up to 860 homes.A statement filed on behalf of the applicants said: “The vision for the site focuses on building a robust development which delivers sustainable and positive growth for south Anstey and the wider Glenfield area to the north-west of Leicester.”The provision of high-quality within a strong network of social and environmental infrastructure aims to realise the vision, promoting sustainability, biodiversity and wellbeing.”
