Permission for Swansea flats scheme
An application to refurbish the site of a former housing office in Swansea into flats has been granted planning permission.The site concerns the old Penlan District Housing Office at 1-11 Cadnant Road.Proposed is a change of use from office and residential to five two-bedroom flats and one one-bed flat for affordable housing. Also included is external alterations to the building, bin storage, fencing and the creation of a new parking area.The flats are to be retained in council ownership.The development has started but has yet to be completed.The existing building is a three-storey detached with a single-storey side projection. The ground and first floors contain office accommodation and the second floor contains two two bedroom flats. The site is served by a parking area to the front with four spaces.Swansea Council has approved the plans subject to conditions under delegated powers.
