Pipeline Framework: Archaeological investigations on 2 sites in the Kennet Valley
A pipeline has been launched for Archaeological investigations on 2 sites in the Kennet Valley.The contract start Date is 1 February 2024. Approach to market date is 8 January 2024.As a member of the Environment Agency Fisheries and Biodiversity team, we are looking to deliver 2 river and floodplain restoration projects. Both projects require excavation of floodplain soils in order to create the necessary channel alignment or to source river gravels. We are aware of the archaeological interest of the Kennet Valley and wish to employ an experienced archaeological consultant to deliver for both sites:1. Archaeological Appraisal2. Written Scheme of Investigation (WSI)3. Outline price for proposed field work identified in task 2. This element to be formally added to contract as a compensation event.Site locations: River Lambourn at Bagnor Estate and River Kennet at KintburyProject completion: 31 March 2024Key Skills: Archaeological desk based assessments, planning field work, managing field work including Health and safety of construction activities.The opportunity is being administered on Defra’s e-tendering portal:If you are interested in this tender, please register your company on the above portal and email matt.chapman@defra.gov.uk to confirm your interest.
