Pipeline Framework: Community Dermatology Services

A pipeline has been launched for Community Dermatology ServicesThe contract start Date is 01 June 2018. Approach to market date is 01 August 2017NHS Brent Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is considering its future Commissioning Strategy for the Provision of a Community Dermatology Service.The intermediate Community Dermatology service will provide high quality, consultant – governed care for Brent registered adults and children who have an acute or chronic dermatological condition that is appropriate for management within an intermediate care setting in line with agreed referral criteria. It is not anticipated that domiciliary visits will be included in the service.The specific outcomes of the service are:To deliver rapid access and streamlined care for patients with dermatological conditionsTo treat patients at the most appropriate locationTo provide quick and timely access, timely diagnostic tests and effective treatments for patientsTo offer patients a maximum waiting time of 4 weeks and deliver on the national 18 week referral to treatment targetTo provide advice, support and education to GPs and other appropriate Health Care Professionals in managing dermatological conditions.To improve the patient care pathway to deliver measurable benefits for patients including improved patient experienceTo ensure appropriate management of onward referrals to secondary care services.To ensure patients are seen by the right clinician at the right timeTo promote self-management strategies for patients with dermatological conditionsThis is a potential opportunity from the government, and the pipeline gives advance notice of an opportunity that might be offered by the public sector in the future – allowing potential suppliers to plan accordingly.
