A pipeline has been launched for GSS23744: UK Research and Innovation – Molecular Biology and Laboratory Chemicals Framework.The contract start Date is 9 July 2024. Approach to market date is 6 March 2024.***For the avoidance of doubt, this is not a call for competition. This notice is to inform the market of a Future Opportunity***UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) brings together the seven Research Councils (AHRC, BBSRC, EPSRC, ESRC, MRC, NERC, STFC) plus Innovate UK and a new organisation, Research England.UKRI wishes to establish a Framework for the provision of Molecular Biology and Laboratory Chemicals.It is intended that the Framework will be based upon nine LOTS:LOT 1 – Nucleic Acid ManipulationLOT 2 – Protein ManipulationLOT 3 – Cell and Tissue CultureLOT 4 – AntibioticsLOT 5 – Chemicals and SolventsLOT 6 – Fine ChemicalsLOT 7 – DrugsLOT 8 – Stable IsotypesLOT 9 – Biological BuffersThe objective of this procurement will be to:a) Produce a Framework Agreement that UKRI can easily use and provide a compliant route to market.b) Capture a large percentage of the Molecular Biology and Laboratory Chemical requirements from large value items to low value, high volume items.c) Develop strong relationships with UKRI and Suppliers to ensure that the requirements are captured and value for money is achieved.d) To capture quality management information that will support informed decision making in future procurements.e) To ensure sustainability aspects are considered and integrated into the Framework Agreement.f) To continuously improve and apply best practice procurement that meets the end users’ requirements.****There is no commitment at this stage that the above mentioned opportunity will proceed in its current format*******GSS23744 Supplier Day***In order for Suppliers to obtain an overview of the requirement, UK SBS on behalf of UKRI will be holding a Supplier day on Monday 9th October 2023 at 11:00hrs GMT, and Thursday 12th October 2023 at 10:00hrs GMT.
