A pipeline has been launched for Provision of Appraisals for Medical Advisors (DVLA).The contract start Date is 21 June 2022. Approach to market date is 20 April 2022.The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) will be publishing an Invitation to Tender in late April to invite proposals for the Provision of Medical Appraisal Services.Requirement Overview:All licensed doctors are required to have an annual appraisal based on the GMC’s (General Medical Council) Good Medical Practise Framework. Medical appraisal is a process of facilitated self-review supported by information gathered from the full scope of the doctor’s work. The appraisal forms a mandatory requirement of the GMC’s five-year license revalidation cycle.The Supplier must arrange, undertake and record approximately 50 of thesec quality-assured Medical appraisals with DVLA Doctors within a 12 month timescale.Drivers Medical Group within DVLA currently employs 40 DVLA Doctors, 2 Junior Doctors and 1 Senior Medical Advisor (SMA) but this number is likely to increase over the life of this contract.
