Pipeline Framework: Wheelchair Services for NHS Herts Valleys and NHS East and North Hertfordshire (ENHCCG) Clinical Commissioning Groups

A pipeline has been launched for Wheelchair Services for NHS Herts Valleys and NHS East and North Hertfordshire (ENHCCG) Clinical Commissioning Groups. The contract start Date is 04 January 2021. Approach to market date is 15 May 2020.NHS Arden & Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit (AGCSU) on behalf of the commissioners, NHS Herts Valleys Clinical Commissioning Group (HVCCG) and NHS East and North Herts Clinical Commissioning Group (ENHCCG), would like to notify providers of the anticipated procurement of Wheelchair Services for their registered populations.The service will provide a comprehensive standard and specialist wheelchair and seating service for children over 30 months (younger children with postural needs/ specialist health needs will be considered if there is clear clinical reasoning for the need), young people and adults.The Service will provide a high quality and clinically safe integrated wheelchair service, including the assessment, prescription and provision of equipment, aftercare, maintenance and support for adults/and or children who have a physical/cognitive and/or degenerative long term condition which limits mobility. This may also include people who require end of life care. Pressure relieving cushions and postural management equipment will also be provided to meet long term clinical need.The estimated contract value is upwards of £10m subject to contract length however, this cannot be guaranteed.The Commissioner anticipates the publish of a tender in early April 2020, utilising the Light Touch Regime (LTR) of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (PCR).This is a potential opportunity from the government, and the pipeline gives advance notice of an opportunity that might be offered by the public sector in the future – allowing potential suppliers to plan accordingly.
