Planning approval for Oldham homes
A housebuilder has secured final planning approval for a £7m development in Oldham, Greater Manchester.Cube Homes, part of Great Places Housing Group, is now set to deliver 23 three- and four-bedroom detached homes on a 2.3 acre site close to Saddleworth Moors.Located off Haven Lane, Moorside, the Weaver’s Croft development takes its name from the cotton mill that once occupied land nearby.Christopher Heath, Cube Homes’ managing director, said: “This planning approval for new homes in Oldham has been very welcome news as we have worked hard to come up with a vision for what we believe will be a fantastic place to live.“There is a shortage of new homes in the area, which has made it difficult for local people to take a first step on the housing ladder, as well as putting pressure on the rental sector.“Weaver’s Croft will offer an opportunity for first time buyers who want to stay in the Oldham area, as well as for young families who need more space with great access to the countryside.”Work is expected to start on the homes later this summer with the first buyers expected to move into their new properties in Spring 2024.Read next: Old school charm for Sunderland housing schemeAre you a social housing professional?
