Plans approved for 1,200-home development in Hartlepool
A major 1,260 new home development in Hartlepool has been approved today by councillors.The South West Extension was granted planning permission at a meeting of Hartlepool Borough Council’s planning committee by eight votes to one.Full planning permission was given to developer Persimmon Homes for 144 houses at the north of the 97-hectare greenfield site behind the Fens estate and Brierton Lane.And outline permission was granted for another 1,116 houses plus a pub/restaurant, medical centre, 500 square metres of retail units, public open space, playing fields, drainage features and other infrastructure.
