Plans come forward for phase two of St Helens scheme
Plans to build more affordable housing on a former glass works site in St Helens have been unveiled.Stanley Land and Homes wants to construct 36 additional properties on a site off Lancots Lane which, under phase one, is being developed to include 168 affordable homes.The proposed second phase of the scheme, made up of houses and cottage flats between one and four bedrooms, will be developed in partnership with contractor Holmpatrick Developments.In the coming weeks, a planning application will be submitted for affordable rent and shared ownership scheme.Neil Hughes, director of Stanley Land and Homes, said: “Plans for the second phase of Lancots Lane will continue our regeneration journey in St Helens and further demonstrate Stanley’s commitment to turning underused sites into thriving communities.”With phase one of Lancots Lane and our scheme on Baxters Lane currently underway, we plan to deliver a total of 232 new homes to the area, all benefitting from high thermal efficiency and low running costs.”Stanley’s professional team on the project includes MPSL Planning and Design (architect), Alan Johnston Partnership (engineers) and Hive (planning consultants).
