Plans for 1,000 homes at power station site submitted
Plans to transform the site of a former power station into up to 1,000 homes and to create more than 600 jobs have been submitted.Harworth Group is behind the application for the old Ironbridge Power Station in Buildwas Road, Shropshire.According to newly filed planning documents, the site would also provide room for a retirement village, 17,222 sq ft of employment land, allotments, sports pitches, leisure uses, primary/ nursery school, park and ride and a convenience food store.The 321-acre site would have 195,903 sq ft of non-residential floor space which would help create 622 new jobs if the go-ahead is granted by Telford & Wrekin Council in the coming months.The plans have been drawn up by Leonard Design Architects
