Plans for 21 flats instead of hotel extension at Halland

Plans have been submitted to build 21 flats on a site at Halland Forge, near Uckfield, where permission was previously given for an hotel extension.Documents submitted with the planning application say that, in essence, the proposal is for a change of use of the previously approved hotel extension.The plan is to build 13 one-bedroom flats, seven two-bedroom flats and one three-bedroom flat. There would be 31 car parking spaces, and a cycle store with access via an existing one onto Heathfield Road.The already approved application for the hotel extension is for two separate blocks of eight and 27 units. The new plan relates to the site of the larger 27 units block.The statement goes on to say the proposed units will meet identified local housing requirements within the area and each flat would provide a suitable amount of living space in line with National Space Standards.
