Plans for £3.5 million Rawtenstall bus station plans are given the go ahead
The first phase of plans to redevelop Rawtenstall town centre and create a new £3.5m bus station have been passed by planning chiefs.Proposals for the redevelopment of the former Valley centre site with a bus station and retail and cafe units were brought before the development control committee on Tuesday, February 23.Planning manager Stephen Stray outlined the application to the committee and members of the public, which was recommended for approval by planning officers and no objections were received from statutory consultees including Historic England and Lancashire County Council Highways.Planning manager Mr Stray said the issue around utilities works could be addressed by the works being done at night, which would prevent the road from having to close in the day.
