Plans for drive-thru and EV charging hub submitted
A new drive-thru coffee shop and electric vehicle (EV) charging facility could be built in Beverley under new plans.A&S Homes Ltd has submitted a full planning application to East Riding of Yorkshire Council for development on land to the north of Hull Bridge Road.Planning permission is sought for a coffee drive-thru unit to be operated by Starbucks and an electrical vehicle charging (EVC) facility.The plans include 19 customer spaces for the drive-thru coffee shop, two disabled parking bays, two EVC bays for the coffee drive-thru, one motorcycle parking space, cycle parking and seven EVC bays for all road users.A planning statement submitted as part of the application said: “There is a national drive by the Government for all new car sales to be electrical from 2030 onwards with a well documents lack of car charging infrastructure in the UK. This proposal will assist in meeting the growing demand for such facilities.”
