Plans for latest Wellington Place building revealed
Plans have come forward for the latest office building at the Wellington Place development in Leeds.CBRE, on behalf of Site 2 GP Ltd Hermes Wellington Place, will present pre-application proposals for the development to Leeds City Council’s City Plans Panel later this week (27 January 2022).A reserved matters application is set to be submitted for Building 9 at Phase 2 of Wellington Place.The proposed development would comprise a 12-storey building featuring 183,266 sq ft of office space. A further 6,851 sq ft of retail accommodation would be provided on the ground floor.Members of the panel will be asked for their views on the design, scale, form and detailing of the proposed building, landscaping and pedestrian connectivity, and climate change and sustainability.They will also be asked to agree to the formal application proposals being determined as a delegated decision.Outline planning permission was granted in June 2019 for Phase 2, comprising six development plots.Approval was subsequently granted in 2020 for 11 & 12 Wellington Place, a development of two office buildings comprising about 230,000 sq ft.Once complete, the wider Wellington Place scheme will comprise a total of 1.5 million sq ft of commercial, retail, leisure and residential space.The already completed buildings – 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 and 10 Wellington Place – are home to tenants including Allianz, Equifax, Sky Betting & Gaming, Irwin Mitchell and Willis Towers Watson. The latest building to reach completion is 4 Wellington Place, which is 85 per cent let to The Stars Group.
