Plans for warehouse and distribution development
An application has been submitted by developer Bracken House Properties for a proposed warehouse and distribution scheme.Proposals lodged to St Helens Council would see three warehouse and distribution buildings comprising of 16 units built. The development would include access, associated infrastructure and landscaping built on land off Navigation Road, St Helens. The application site is currently vacant and its boundaries are becoming overgrown with self-seeded vegetation. It was previously the site of a former gas holder, now fully demolished, but is now vacant. All remnants of the previous use have long since been removed leaving a relatively clear site for redevelopment. The development has been designed specifically for use by small scale companies and/or start-ups.Each unit comprises flexible warehouse style accommodation, supported by a WC and small kitchen area, and is accessed via a personnel door and roller shutter. Each unit is supported by a minimum of two parking bays.A design and access statement submitted as part of the application reads: This development proposal facilitates the provision of new high quality warehouse/distribution accommodation within St. Helens and the wider borough, and would make a positive contribution to the character of the local area.
